The wait is over: ProMods Canada v1.7.0 is out now. Over our last two previews we took you from Prince Rupert to Meziadin Junction and then west down Highway 37A, and today you can drive every kilometre of it yourself.
Even with SCS’s British Columbia DLC on the way, we weren’t ready to put down the tools just yet, so we’ve pushed the map further north with this update. To celebrate the release, we’ve put together a trailer that takes you through the new areas.
Beyond British Colombia
This update expands ProMods Canada north along the Skeena River, bringing new towns and settlements to explore between Prince Rupert and Meziadin Junction. From there, Highway 37A winds through the Coast Mountains, past Bear Glacier Provincial Park and along the Bear River as it cuts through alpine gorges toward the deep-water port of Stewart, sitting at the head of the Portland Canal. Just beyond it lies Hyder, a quiet Alaskan town that marks ProMods Canada’s very first expansion into US territory.
North of Hyder, the road turns to dirt and gravel as you re-enter Canada and approach Premier, home to the historic Premier Mine, before reaching the mighty Salmon Glacier. You can haul cargo up to the glacier viewsite as part of road maintenance and stabilisation works following a recent landslip, with sweeping views over one of the largest road-accessible glaciers in North America waiting at the top.
Road Trip Ready
v1.7.0 also brings support for SCS’s new Road Trip DLC to ProMods Canada. If you fancy a break from heavy hauling, the new cars are ready to take out onto the new roads, and few routes in the mod make for a better scenic drive than Highway 37A.
