ProMods Europe v2.84: A Nordic Homecoming (Preview)

Our work across the Nordic Horizons is far from finished.
Following from our first round of returning locations to the Nordic Horizons area, after the DLC released, v2.84 brings another set of ProMods Favorites back to the map; merged, built and refreshed to sit alongside the Nordic Horizons DLC. There’s also some important work done elsewhere in Scandinavia that’s well worth your attention. Let’s dive in.

Kittilä

Kittilä returns to the map having been fully reskinned for the Nordic Horizons merge. A firm ProMods favourite, the town sits deep in Finnish Lapland; a remote, quiet corner of the map that SCS left largely unfilled, and one that’s been noticeably absent since Nordic Horizons released. That gap is now filled.

Route 955
A major connector to Kittilä is the 955 Highway, running through the heart of Lapland. It’s a long, open road, making the world of ETS2 feel lived-in, and it covers a substantial stretch of territory that simply was neglected from Nordic Horizons DLC. Drivers heading north will find the journey feels complete in a way it previously didn’t.

Rv80
“The Rv80” feeds Kittilä from the west. Rounding out the town’s connections and giving the area proper accessibility from the surrounding network. Together with the 955 Highway, it places Kittilä firmly back on the map. Along this route, keep an eye out for a HUGE train depot, custom built and edged into the map.

Savonlinna

Savonlinna is back, and it’s easy to see why it was missed. The city sits at the heart of the Finnish Lake District, surrounded by water on almost every side; and that geography defines the driving experience entirely. Roads here don’t simply connect A to B; they wind between lakes, cross bridges, and navigate a landscape that feels unlike anywhere else in the ProMods map.

Rødbyhavn

South to Denmark, where Rødbyhavn has received a refresh. A currently unnamed city on the map, This is a road with genuine strategic importance; it leads directly to one of the key ferry connections between Scandinavia and mainland Europe, linking the Nordic network to Germany and the rest of the continent beyond. The refresh brings it up to standard and ensures the gateway to mainland Europe makes the right first impression.

Kongsvinger & Molde

Finally, a pair of Norwegian towns that SCS introduced as scenery… present on the map, but without the depth to make them worth stopping for.

With ProMods Europe v2.84, Kongsvinger and Molde have been properly defined, named, and given deliverable companies, turning two background locations into genuine destinations. It’s the kind of detail that quietly improves the map without announcing itself.. but drivers who know these towns will notice immediately.

ProMods Europe v2.83: Lorient Trailer

With ProMods Europe v2.83, we’re keeping things Focused on Brittany & Lorient. Lorient is here, and it’s the headline of this Update, and it’s one we’re particularly pleased to share, not least because it holds a rare distinction for a French city: not a single toll booth in sight!

The City

Lorient sits on the southern coast of Brittany, and the city has been built to reflect what it actually is; a working port city, practical and maritime in character, with the kind of industrial waterfront presence that makes it a genuinely useful destination on the map.

The port area comes with a full complement of companies, offering cargo pickups and deliveries that give drivers a real reason to make the journey. From the approach roads feeding into the city centre to the dockside itself, Lorient feels like a place with purpose; one that rewards drivers who take the time to explore it properly rather than passing straight through.

Across Brittany

The road network extending across the area is where the scale of this addition becomes clear.
The N24 stretches east toward Rennes, cutting through the Breton interior with the kind of open, unhurried driving that this part of France does particularly well. To the north, the N164 and surrounding routes connect Lorient to the wider Breton network, passing through terrain that shifts between dense woodland, open farmland, and the occasional glimpse of the Atlantic horizon.

Tucked away within the woodland, there’s also a custom-built company waiting to be discovered; one of those additions that rewards drivers who take the time to leave the main carriageway and explore. Junctions, interchanges, and roadside detail have all been considered across the full extent of the area.. this isn’t just a city drop, it’s a proper regional addition.

Look.. No Tolls!

The roads connecting Lorient to the rest of Brittany are fast, well-maintained, and, crucially.. free!
The N164 runs along the southern edge of the area, forming the main artery in and out of the city, while the N24 heads east through the interior toward Rennes. These are proper French national roads; wide, open, and built for distance. For a French city of this size and connectivity, it bears repeating: not a single toll booth.
After the A4, we felt you deserved it.

v2.83

Alongside Lorient, v2.83 also brings a significant round of bug fixes and improvements to the wider map.
Most notably, for users of the TCP, and readers of our previous post regarding gas stations: all gas stations across Switzerland have now been updated to their real counterparts// something we previewed in an earlier blog post, and which is now live for everyone to enjoy.

Fire up the game, head to promods.net to grab the latest version, and we’ll see you on the road. It’s out now!

ProMods’ Polish Expedition Convoy: Recap

On May 31st, we collected ourselves on TruckersMP for another convoy! We took our community through recently made Poznan, and the Recently Released A5 & S61 highways.

For many players, and especially those on TruckersMP, this convoy offered a rare chance to drive alongside several members of the ProMods Team; a great opportunity to enjoy the roads together, answer questions, and celebrate the release of new areas. Additionally, plenty of fun was had on Twitch & YouTube, with far beyond questionable driving from some team members!!

With Love, from You!!

So many members of both the ProMods and TruckersMP community come together to drive with this convoy,
This included the attendance of multiple Virtual Trucking Companies (VTC)’s: Prime Logistics, Pink Ribbon VTC, Galaxy Convoy Services & Aurora VTC!

From long-established virtual companies, all the way through the new and smaller independent groups; we thank everyone for attending for this drive!

Drivers from Everywhere!

Hosting a convoy with players from all corners proved fun; the in-game chat was going mental! It seems that these convoys connect people from all corners!
So many trucks were in attendance, albeit virtually. Have a look at some of our favorites below;

Additionally, for those who aren’t already familiar with the recently developed “ProMods LIVE” series, we occasionally livestream elements within Promods to both our Twitch & YouTube channels. This one was no exemption!

Jess, our Event Manager, took to the roads to provide a first-hand P.O.V. for anyone who was unable to make it. Despite making the convoy two minutes late, she did well!
A big thanks to Jess for helping out on the Stream!

Convoy Control

We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to our partners at TruckersMP, who helped assist us running this event, providing us FIrst Class convoy control!
A huge additional thank you is extended to everybody who participated, shared photos, and participated in any way. We hope to see you at the next convoy!

ProMods Europe: v2.82 Trailer

ProMods Europe v2.82 is here. From the Black Sea coast of Turkey to the motorway networks adjacent to the North Sea of the Benelux, this is a release that covers a lot of ground, literally, with new cities, reworked corridors, and a long-awaited merge all landing in one go. Here’s a run through what’s new.

France: A4 (Reims/Strasbourg)

by Fisher JB.
The A4 is one of eastern France’s most important motorway corridors, stretching from Reims in the heart of the Champagne region all the way east to Strasbourg on the banks of the Rhine. This is a route that connects two of France’s most historically and culturally distinct cities, and the ground-up overhaul has been created to more accurately reflect the real-world alignment of the corridor, with improved carriageway layouts, more accurate interchange designs, and smoother transitions between the motorway and surrounding networks. If you’ve driven this stretch before, you’ll notice the difference immediately. Eastern France is quietly stunning, and this rework does it justice

Turkey: Hopa

by Meciran_ECG & Emreunalir.
As recently announced, Hopa is a town in northeast Turkey, located on the eastern Turkish Black Sea coast, 18 kilometres from the border with Georgia and its arrival in ProMods pushes the eastern Black Sea frontier that much closer to life,, and one that’s been a long time coming for Turkey’s coastline in ProMods.

Nordics: Finland & Norway

by Vladzz-G & Joessin.
Three Finnish locations and one Norwegian addition make up the Nordic content in v2.82, all falling within the Nordic Horizons DLC area that ProMods has been carefully reintegrating over recent versions.

Kristiinankaupunki, a small coastal town on the western coast of Finland has been built and merged into the wider Nordic Horizons area, reskinned to align with the visual standards and atmosphere established across the region. Kristiinankaupunki adds a stretch of Finland’s coastline that was previously absent, and brings with it the kind of unhurried, scenic driving that this part of the world does so well.
Seinäjoki and Kaustinen are also returning, brought up to the standards of the current map and reintegrated into the Nordic Horizons region. Alongside the towns themselves, two roads make this stretch genuinely useful for long-distance routing

Crossing into Norway, Lødingen also joins the map; a ferry port in the Lofoten area that adds a meaningful logistics node to the far north.

Germany Würzburg & Poland: Zakrzewo

by ItzPxllel & Wojtek.
Germany’s motorway network is one of the most recognizable in Europe, and the A3, running through the heart of Bavaria, is no exception. Würzburg is one of those cities that drivers pass through constantly on the BAB3 and t’s a natural crossroads, and bringing it properly into ProMods alongside the surrounding Autobahn infrastructure is the kind of foundational work that makes the German network feel complete

Zakrzewo is a smaller addition but a meaningful one, rounding out the Polish road network with another piece of the real map filled in, additionally, the feature of simulating authentic and real bus routes in-game here is a first, and we are already feeling the added immersion. Poland’s contribution to ProMods has grown substantially over recent releases, and this continues that tradition of careful, incremental expansion through ProMods’ own Polish development work.

“BENELUX Rework” Merge

by Scan720, Sam du 972 & Mandelsoft.
The headline of v2.82 for many long-term ProMods players; SCS Software released their rework for the “BENELUX” Region, and we’ve spent some extra time importing this into our mod! We’ll soon start adding in more of ProMods work, like we have done with Nordic Horizons today,

The Benelux area has historically been one of the most complex parts of the map given how densely connected it is in real life, and getting it right has taken time for SCS to pull off, we have hopeful wishes for how we can expand.

More City Names!

One of the things we noticed in the recently released Nordic Horizons and BENELUX Rework areas, is that some town names are missing, so we decided to just.. put them in! See if you can spot the names that weren’t there prior!

Out Now!

The best part of all of this? It’s out NOW! We are so glad to give v2.82 to you, and we hope you enjoy!
