For a long time, the areas now covered by SCS’s Nordic Horizons DLC were ProMods territory. We knew these roads, these towns, and these landscapes well, and with v2.82 over the horizon, we’re returning to them. Today we’re giving you a first look at what we’re bringing to the Nordic Horizons area, with two countries represented and more still to come.
Kristiinankaupunki
The headline that we’d like to show is Kristiinankapunki, a small coastal town on the western coast of Finland. This is a location that we’re particularly pleased to be sharing. Never announced before.
The town has beenbuilt and merged into the wider Nordic Horizons area, reskinned to align with the visual standards and atmosphere we’ve established across the region. Sitting quietly on the Gulf of Bothnia, Kristiinankaupunki adds a stretch of Finland’s coastline that was previously absent, and brings with it the kind of unhurried, scenic driving that this part of the world does so well.
Seinäjoki & Kaustinen
Those of you on Social Media will have seen a preview on this already.
If your memory goes back even farther, you may recall that this area first appeared in ProMods back in 2022, over four years ago. With v2.82, Seinäjoki and Kaustinen are returning, brought up to the standards of the current map and reintegrated into the Nordic Horizons region.
Alongside the towns themselves, we’re reintroducing two roads that make this stretch genuinely useful for long-distance routing. Road Vt19 runs directly from Tampere to Kokkola, offering a clean bypass of Vaasa for drivers who know where they’re going. Road Kt63 takes a quieter path through the villages of Kauhava, Evijärvi, and on into Kaustinen itself the kind of road that rewards drivers who aren’t always in a hurry.
Lødingen
Crossing into Norway, we’re also introducing Lødingen; a location that some of you may already recognise. Sharp-eyed members of our Discord community spotted it earlier this year through one of our Guess the Location posts in March, and the response made clear it had struck a chord.
Lødingen is a brand new asset for ProMods, and its placement isn’t accidental. This is a location chosen with the future of our Norway coverage firmly in mind, and while we’re not ready to say more than that just yet, we think those who know the region will understand why it matters.
