ProMods The Great Steppe 1.6.0: Turkmenistan Trailer

The wait is over. ProMods The Great Steppe v1.6.0 is out now! And with it, the latest country to the ProUniverse: Turkmenistan!

To celebrate the release, we’ve published the official trailer for the update, showcasing landscapes, roads, and towns that make up the latest expansion to central asia. From the vast steppe highways to remote coastal settlements, this update pushes the map further south than ever before!

The Journey Onwards

The journey begins across the familiar yet ever-changing landscapes of the Central Asian steppe. Long desert stretches with unique challenges stretch towards the horizon as you approach the Turkmen border, surrounded by the vast dry terrain, and the feeling of isolation.

These roads are designed to capture the scale and atmosphere of The Steppe, where long distance driving becomes a test of endurance. Something that we have managed to capture perfectly.

Into Turkmenistan

Crossing through the border into Turkmenistan creates a new milestone for The Great Steppe.
The Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan border crossing has been recreated to reflect the distinct style and infrastructure found in the region. Passing through checkpoints and customs, drivers will notice a sly change in environment as they leave Uzbekistan behind for the first time.

Through Garabogaz

Beyond the border lies Garabogaz: a coastal town along the Caspian Sea. Many of you may already recognize this location: we’ve teased it several times in previous previews and posts.
Now, with v1.6.0 released, you can finally drive through this yourself.

Garabogaz features fully custom company prefabs, new industrial areas, and a derivable beach along the shoreline. Offering a very different atmosphere compared to the inland desert roads. The towns soviet-era architecture and industrial surroundings create a distinctive stop along your first journey into Turkmenistan.

ProMods: The Great Steppe continues to grow, and Turkmenistan marks some of the next steps in expanding the map acorss Central Asia. We hope you enjoy exploring this new region and experiencing the roads of Garabogaz for yourself.

ProMods Europe v2.81: Poznan

The latest ProMods Europe update is soon upon us: ProMods Europe v2.81. This marks the completion of one of ProMods’ longest developed projects of nine years. The latest addition to Euro Truck Simulator 2 is Poznań, and its surrounding areas.

Alongside the release, we’re also publishing a brand-new trailer that takes you on a dive through the area, showcasing only some of what you can expect on your newly built western Poland, featuring cities such as Poznań, Luboń, Komorniki and more!
Let’s have a look at what this update brings.

The Polish Landscape

Western Poland offers a distinctive driving atmosphere; wide open farmland, gently rolling terrain, dense tree corridors, and expansive motorway networks. In v2.81, we’ve carefully recreated the feeling of driving along the regions modern highways while maintaining the natural beauty that defines the wider area of Poland.

You can expect detailed interchanges, accurate road geometry, and long stretches of motorway surrounded by the beauty and atmosphere of scenic-highways, and industrial outskirts through western Poland.

I have never made an area for ProMods with this level of detail. I am sure the players will love to see it, after 9 years of development.

The Cities of Poznan

At the heart of this update lies Poznań, one of Poland’s major economic and cultural centers. The city, and its surrounding towns of Luboń, Komorniki, Września, and Konin have been designed with careful and appropriate attention to scale and detail. Each location contributes its own character, from suburban environments and service areas to larger industrial districts and highway hubs.

Custom Prefabs & Industry

One of the standout features of this update introduces new custom prefabs tailored to the Poznań Region.
Most notably, we’ve added a fully custom automotive factory to Poznań. Users with the “Trailer and Company Pack” from us will notice this is based upon Volkswagen Poznań, bringing a realistic industrial presence to the area.

Additionally, to the east of Konin, you’ll find a brand-new custom motorway services, designed to be true-to-life, including a place to eat, a fuel stop, and a wonderful rest area, offering players a much more immersive break point along your route.

Signs & Models

A large portion of our authenticity is in our details. For v2.81, we created a range of custom Polish signage, including accurate local street and motorway signs that reflect the region’s real-world standards.
In addition, we’ve continued our modelling work to introduce local bus models to populate these cities and improve the urban realism. These small touches contribute to making the Poznań area feel distinct and believable within the ProMods Mod.

Poznań felt quite empty in the base game, which inspired me to open the map editor for the first time. Over 10 years later, that decision has completely changed my life; I now work at SCS, someone else finished the original project, and my strong connection to the city pushed me to give it far more assets than most cities usually get.

UI Adaptations

Moving away from Poznan, our other change to ProMods Europe v2.81 consists of the UI. With ETS2’s latest version, SCS introduced changes to the game’s UI system. To ensure seamless compatability, we’ve updated and adapted our own custom UI messages to align with the new structure.

While not directly tied to the Poznań region, these improvements are part of the 2.81 release and help maintain a consistent and polished user experience.
We hope you enjoy exploring Poznań region in ProMods Europe v2.81. As always, we thank you for your continued support.

ProMods Canada v1.6.1: Radium & Revelstoke

Development continues across British Columbia as we prepare the next update for ProMods Canada.
This time, we’re returning to two familiar locations; Revelstoke and Radium Hot Springs, bringing new scenery, industry, and natural landmarks to the map.

We are happy to announce that this version is also out now! Download at https://promods.net/

The Columbia Valley

Radium Hot Springs has received significant attention in this update. Known for its dramatic mountain surroundings and its position at the gateway to Kootenay National Park, the town now feels far more alive and connected to its environment.

To the west of Radium, we’ve added the famous Sinclair Canyon, a striking natural landmark where the highway cuts directly between towering red rock cliffs. This narrow canyon pass is one of the most recognizable features of the area, and it creates a unique driving experience as you enter or leave town towards new company locations.

Into The Horsethief Creek

To the east of Radium, drivers will find the start of the Horsethief Creek, leading into dense forestry terrain and marking the entrance to a more rugged, off-highway driving experience. Along the start sits a large custom-built sawmill, designed specifically for ProMods Canada, offering new cargo opportunities and expanding the region’s logging industry.

After passing the new sawmill east of Revelstoke, drivers will cross a rustic steel bridge over the Columbia River, marking the entrance toward Horsethief Creek and the surrounding forestry roads. This area has been carefully recreated to capture the calm yet rugged atmosphere of the region, shallow riverbanks, dense tree lines, and mountain backdrops stretching into the distance. The bridge itself serves as a subtle transition point, guiding players from the industrial sawmill zone into quieter, more remote terrain typical of British Columbia’s interior.

Revelstoke Dam

The Revelstoke Dam, one of British Columbia’s largest hydroelectric facilities, has now been added to the map. Located just north of the city along the Columbia River, this impressive structure is an iconic part of the region’s identity.

Recreating the dam required careful scaling and terrain adjustments to capture its imposing presence while ensuring it fits seamlessly into the game world. Whether you’re passing by on a delivery or simply exploring the area, the dam adds a striking new visual focal point to Revelstoke, and marks a major addition to this phase of work in the city.

ProMods Maghreb: v1.0.0 Trailer

As announced previously, Maghreb Map has officially joined the ProMods family, much like The Great Steppe did before it. Today, we’re excited to share the first full trailer for the very near ProMods Maghreb release. This offers a true look at what you can expect as we prepare the final stages for this map map and integration into our ecosystem.

As detailed in our previous trailers, blog posts, and social media posts, ProMods Maghreb introduces brand-new areas to the ProMods map across Morocco and Tunisia, fully explorable and reachable by ferry. The project works both as a standalone map and in combination with ProMods Europe, allowing players to choose the experience that suits them best. Whether you’re arriving from Algeciras or beyond, this expansion opens the door to a completely new region within ETS2 one filled with atmosphere, cultural variety, and distinct landscapes unlike anything else in the game

A New Continent

This map shines a spotlight on Northern Africa, bringing an entirely different world to life through its roads, cities, industries, deserts, and coastlines. From the stunning approach to Tangier to the arid scenery surrounding Tunis, the Maghreb region offers a depth and diversity that bring new challenges and beauty to driving.

To share the spirit of the original project, here’s an excerpt from the now-archived MaghrebMap website, which has since been donated to ProMods:

“MaghrebMap is your gateway to Africa. MaghrebMap v0.3.3 brings the countries of Morocco, Libya and Tunisia to the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and the first steps to a complete Northern Africa! As you explore, you will discover new cities, cultures and the beauty of Northern Africa. Enjoy the coastal views of Tangier in Morocco or the desert scenery of Medinine in Tunisia. Drive the roads of Africa either in Vanilla or with ProMods integration and a wide range of other map mods that work alongside, tested by our Beta Testers!”

Our first release with ProMods focuses on Morocco and Tunisia; refreshed and upgraded; prepared to meet our standards, with more to come in the future.

Stay tuned for for our next announcements, the release is not far at all!
The work on Maghreb has been progressing steadily behind the scenes, and we’re looking forward to giving you a chance to explore these regions very soon.
