ProMods Canada: Version 1.1.0 – What’s new?

It’s been 10 months since the first version of ProMods Canada released and while it’s taken longer than expected, the next content update for ProMods Canada is almost Ready.

What does the update contain?

Version 1.1.0 of ProMods Canada primarily focuses on adding a connection from Vancouver to Kamloops Via the BC-99. Along the route you’ll experience the stunning coastal and mountain views of the Sea to Sky Highway between Vancouver and Pemberton, passing Squamish and Whistler along the way.

Leaving Pemberton the route follows the path of the Lillooet River before climbing to pass Duffey Lake, winding through the mountain valley and heading into Lillooet

Once through Lillooet the BC-99 follows the Fraser River to the settlement of Pavilion where it breaks away to pass Pavilion Lake in the Marble Canyon Provincial Park.

The BC-99’s route concludes just north of Cache Creek at an intersection with the BC-97 which itself heads southwards to end in Cache Creek where it meets the TCH-1

Finally, the TCH-1 continues east of Cache Creek, through unusually desertic environments before reaching the interchange with the BC-5 near Kamloops.

But that’s Not all

In addition to the main highways, v1.1.0 will also bring a number of gravel tracks and service roads to reach some of the more remote settlements in the region.

We’ve also included Horseshoe Bay as a city with two companies and while the ferry terminal may not be in use yet, it gives a sneak peak at some potential future updates for ProMods Canada.

There will also be other additions around the map to look out for which we may show in more detail at a later date.

Lytton

As part of version 1.1.0 we had planned to include a connection between Lillooet and Merritt via the town of Lytton. We also wanted to include the TCH-1 between Hope and Cache Creek, also Via Lytton. However as some of you may have seen, on June the 30th, while British Columbia was experiencing a record-breaking heat wave the town of Lytton found itself in the path of an out of control wildfire. With 70km/h winds pushing the fire north at estimated speeds of up to 20km/h, residents had very little time to evacuate the town before 90% of it was catastrophically burned to the ground.

Due to the nature of the event and the effect it had on the population, we have elected to remove Lytton from version 1.1.0. We are considering possible methods to respectfully bring it back in the near future, but for now the town will be omitted from the release.

ProMods 2.55 Now With Iberia DLC Support

ProMods 2.55 has released meaning you can now drive with the Iberia DLC. At this moment, no ProMods work has been merged in yet, you can read more about that below. It’s also possible to play 2.55 without Iberia; although you will lose ProMods Spain, 2.55 also brings many bug fixes and improvements.

What’s happening to ProMods Spain and Andorra?

The plan is to return as much of ProMods Spain as possible aside from old and dated areas such as Barcelona. Currently the highest priority is bringing back Andorra, where work has already begun connecting it to the new DLC content. After the merge is completed we hope to start improving and expanding the DLC.
Currently there are no pictures to share, so stay tuned for future updates!

ProMods Iberia DLC Prefab AI Fix

In the meantime, MandelSoft has put together a fix to improve AI behaviour on some of the prefabs in the Iberia DLC. Have you noticed problems with the AI taking weird paths, for example when approaching toll stations? Download the fix here! Eventually this will be integrated into the main ProMods map, but for now it is an independent fix which should work with or without the ProMods map.

That’s it, we’ll make sure to keep you updated on our Discord server, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook page with some exciting development updates. Happy trucking!

30,000 YouTube Subscribers, 1.40 Compatibility Releases and more!

It’s been a while since the last blog, and with the first three months of 2021 already behind us it’s high time we looked back at some recent milestones and our 1.40-compatible releases. Finally, read to the end for some teasers of what’s to come in both ETS2 and ATS!

We recently reached 30,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel, an especially impressive milestone considering we crossed 20,000 almost exactly one year earlier. Make sure to subscribe for development updates, livestreams, and of course our official teaser trailers. Our other social media channels also continue to grow apace. We reached 20,000 Twitter followers and 20,000 members on our Discord server back in January — Discord is the best platform for keeping right up to date with development and getting more involved in the community. And while you’re at it, don’t forget our Facebook page and Instagram!

SCS recently updated both games, American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, to version 1.40. The main challenge for the compatibility updates of our ProMods maps was the completely overhauled lighting system in both games. We had to adjust all of our light hookups (sources) and self-illuminating textures to be balanced in the new system, as well as readjusting the climate files to match with the new skyboxes.

ProMods ETS2 2.52

As well as allowing you to enjoy our map in the new lighting system, ProMods 2.52 contains a scattering of additions and rebuilds in Germany, the UK, France, Iceland and more! Furthermore, the Middle East Add-on sees new cities and roads in Iraq, Turkey and Jordan. Take a look at the details:

ProMods Canada 1.0.1

This is a pure compatibility update, as well as fixing the bugs reported in version 1.0.0. But don’t worry, we are working hard to expand our Canada map!

Trailer & Company Pack 1.28 and Cabin Accessories Pack 1.14

Our TCP and CAP add-ons for ETS2 have also been updated for game version 1.40.

Upcoming content teasers

2.52 is only the beginning of new content coming this year across both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. The team has been working hard on many projects, big and small. We’ve decided to give you a few teasers to get you excited about what’s coming up!

Canada Sounds

With the new sound system added, Sam, along with other developers, have been hard at work adding it into both our ETS2 and ATS maps. Below you can see a preview of the new sounds being added around Canada:

These will appear in the next Canada update.

Well that’s it folks, there’s a lot to look forward to, make sure to keep an eye out on our social media for announcements and upcoming development news!
